quotations

i'v been throwing the idea around lately of setting myself a project based on quotations i like from various places, such as songs, films and books. whenever i hear or read something, there are always parts that stand out to me on a personal level, these may not be quotes as such, but just sentences or phrases that i feel i can relate with. they always trigger my thoughts or give me some sort of ideas, so i thought i should try and use them to do something productive. i'm not sure exactly what sort of project this will be yet, so i'm currently just producing some test imagery to see what direction it goes. the main goal i would like to achieve with this eventually is to simply produce striking visuals that express some of my personality. we'll see what happens.

hand job, music and graffiti

here's a few books i've been looking at recently for inspiration, they are well worth checking out. hand job is a great book on hand drawn type put together by michael pervy, with some really creative examples of typography. supersonic is a collection of cover art in modern music, and street sketchbook is a collection of mainly graffiti work by a range of artists. This was put together by tristan manco, and his website is really worth looking at www.tristanmanco.com

super sledgehammer

this was the initial name that Shaun and myself came up with for our design partnership, however in hindsight, while sounding fun, it was not an appropriate name so we dropped it. the name was originally suggested by Shaun after playing Fallout 3, it being a reference to a weapon from the game. below i've included a design concept for the branding of this name for ourselves, with the main influence being the artwork produced for the game LittleBigPlanet.

litetune radio

i'm having a bit of a surge on here at the moment, which can only be a good thing, so i thought id upload some logo concepts i produced for an online radio station called 'litetune'. i decided to experiment with type and create something distinctive rather than produce an image-based logo

i finished the font for the web comic titled 'at war'. i did 5 variations on the idea that was chosen from the initial concepts. i tried to keep them looking as natural as possible to maintain the hand drawn look that was required. hope you like the results
